Questions families ask before their first visit

If your question is not here, call us or add it to your tour request — we would rather answer it than have you guess.

Visiting and enrolling

  • What happens on a tour?

A tour is a chance to see Little Explorers in person, ask questions and get a feel for the school. Requesting a tour does not enroll your child or commit you to anything.

  • Is my tour time confirmed straight away?

Not automatically. Your preferred day and time are part of your request; our team contacts you directly to confirm the visit. All times shown on this site are Eastern Time.

  • What if I need to change or cancel my visit?

Call us and we will move it. There is no penalty for rescheduling, and we would much rather move a visit than have you miss it.

  • Do I have to enroll after visiting?

No. A tour carries no obligation. Enrollment is a separate conversation with its own paperwork, and it happens only when you decide you want it.

Programs and learning

  • Which programs do you offer?

We offer Infant Care, Toddler Care, Preschool, VPK and After School. The first four are organized around age, and After School is available for children ages 3 to 10. Tell us your child's age on the tour request and we will point you to the right program.

  • What ages does each program serve?

Infant Care takes babies from 3 months to age 1. Toddler Care is for 2-year-olds, Preschool for 3-year-olds, and VPK for 4-year-olds under Florida's statewide rule — children move up through those four programs based on age and development. After School is separate: it runs alongside the school day for children ages 3 to 10.

  • How does the bilingual program actually work?

It depends on your child's age. In our infant, one-year-old and two-year-old classrooms, Spanish is the primary language. In Preschool and VPK — our three- and four-year-old classrooms — English is the primary language. We do not promise fluency in either language; what we aim for is comfort and the confidence to use it.

  • Will my child be ready for kindergarten?

We do not promise a specific outcome for an individual child. During your tour, ask us about the Preschool and VPK experience and how families can prepare for the transition to kindergarten.

Hours and schedule

  • Do you offer part-time or half-day schedules?

Our regular programs are full-day only — we do not currently offer part-time, half-day or drop-in schedules. The one exception is VPK, which has its own separate instructional schedule, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

  • What are your hours?

The school is open Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. VPK has its own instructional schedule within that day — Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, August through May. After School runs Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Health and safety

  • Who can drop off and pick up my child?

Only people you have authorized may pick up your child. Normally that person is already on file in your child's record. If someone who is not already on file needs to pick them up, we ask for email authorization from a parent or guardian, a phone call to confirm it, and a valid photo ID from the person picking up.

  • Are you licensed?

Yes — our license number is 50463. You can also look us up through the Florida child care provider search.

VPK

  • Who is eligible for VPK?

Florida offers VPK to children who are four years old on or before September 1. Eligibility and enrollment are handled by the state and by the Early Learning Coalition of Broward County, not by us — but we can point you to the right starting place. We do run VPK here, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, August through May.

Daily communication

  • How will I hear about my child's day?

We share updates with families through Procare, and many classrooms also use WhatsApp groups to stay in touch. If you would like to talk with your child's teacher directly, just ask and we will set up a meeting.
